Digging in the Shadows to Find the Gold

I am mining in the darkness to uncover/discover the gold within the shadow today. Some may say, "What the heck does that mean?" well it means I am looking at what isn't said, what people hold back, what has been suppressed.

My voice was suppressed as a child. Somewhere along the way I regained it but as a child I was afraid to speak. I was afraid of many things; getting in trouble, looking stupid, what was in the dark, what was under my bed, what may peer back at me through my window at night, the kids at school, and I was afraid I would always be sad.

Here I am 35 to 40 years later asking where is the gold within those experiences? Where is the gold in the sadness? Where is the gold of being afraid? Or where is the gold that was suppressed because I was afraid?

It is in the music I play with my native flute. It is in my drawings that are becoming more wild and bold. It is in my writing that will not be suppressed. It is in my voice for I will never be silent again. It is the juiciness that I discover every single day that I am willing to look into those dark places to see what I have forgotten that I used to love, that I used to be good at, that I used to dream of. It is the creativity of a life well lived with authentic purpose.

Delve deep. Discover/uncover for yourself what is waiting in the shadows. It isn't all darkness. There is gold to be found. There is your authentic soul to be remembered.

Celebrating the Moments

I am so excited! I just found out my first article "How to Create a Video From Your Essay" has been accepted. I am celebrating times two! First that it was accepted, second because it was accepted just the way I submitted it. I was very prepared to fix any problems they said needed to be fixed and it was accepted without needing any further editing. It is amazing how wonderful it feels to have stretched my abilities once more and have something positive happen.

Is there a project that you have been thinking about but because it is something you haven't done before you have been afraid to try it?

It is time to take the steps to make your dreams come true. If I can do it you most certainly can too. No one else can do it for you. What small step can you take? What bigger steps?

I encourage you to take those steps. I encourage you to stretch your abilities. I challenge you to do something new. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be authentic to you. What stirs your blood? What excites you? What creates a time warp for you that you are so engrossed in that hours go by before you realize what time it is? Take a chance. I hope you do.

I am celebrating my moment, this moment right now. There isn't any other feeling like it. My hope is you are celebrating your moments as they happen for you as well.

Much Love to You All.

A Shadowy Day

Last night went really well with the Clutterologist. I of course couldn't stand it and had to clean all day yesterday so the place looked fairly well when she showed up. Exhausted but happy with the outcome I was very much looking forward to my one of two days that I get to have to myself in the morning to work on my writing and my next video.

Then Christie reminded me that Tuesday was the day she and I have to get up early and go to an appointment that I had completely forgotten about. Okay, I think, no problem I can still have my afternoon to write and work on creating another video (I just finished a Priestess Process video).

We didn't get home until 2:30 p.m. No problem, I have three and a half hours until Elizabeth has to go to work and my shift with Olivia begins. Christie grabs the good laptop because it was too late for her to go back to work. Alright... I will just work on my writing and later work on my next video. Elizabeth knocks on the door, "Mom my head is killing me and I really need to Lie down, can you watch Olivia for me?" Puffing out a long breath I realize today is going to be a total loss in regards to work.

Olivia has chosen today to be one of her, "Everything is frustrating me so I am going to have a tantrum every other minute." days.

It reminds me of the ol' days commercial, "Calgon take me away." I don't have time for that today either.

Meanwhile Christie has left for her workout appointment and Elizabeth is moments away from leaving for work and I am racing to get this blog post completed.

Now I am feeling moopy. It is a combination of moody and mope. As I hear my daughter getting ready to go out the door, I realize I can go turn on my fast, fun music that Olivia will love too and we can both dance out our frustrations together. As I let out another long breath, there is always Thursday.

Dancing Into Life

I heard someone ask if there was more to life than this. I say it is what we make it. As people choose to move out of fear and living a more authentic life I believe this question will be asked less and less.

It is through clearing/healing our fears, connecting with the Divine, ourselves and others that we can move into seeing the magical mysteries, sacred moments and miracles.

There are numerous activities that people could involve themselves in if they could only see them. The problem is they are mired down in the illusion of "I can't, I won't, It isn't possible, I will never, They will never" and on and on.

If they could just stop for a moment, turn on fun music and dance out of their body all the yuck they are feeling then dance into their body their new intention of "Living, loving, and being who they really are, their authentic self." It would create a shift of I am enough, I am the one I have been waiting for, I can do anything I really desire to do, the possibilities are endless.

Movement is key. We have to start moving our bodies. Our bodies are meant to move and the more we move with intention the more we will see the positive shift that a lot of people are looking for bringing back the sacredness of life.

Turn on your favorite music and dance your way into a more fulfilling life.
