Embracing Change in the Shadows - Saying Goodbye to February

This past month I have been diving deep into the shadows to discover my authentic voice for my writing. I journeyed with shadow into music and movement. I have determined to never get on a scale again and to look at how I am feeling and use movement to feel better. February has been an enlightening month filled with changes; understanding my body and learning to treat it as the sacred vessel that it is.

I have been learning how to balance movement with my writing and not always being successful but always trying to be compassionate about it.

I haven't created as much art but I did get myself an offline art journal that I have explored and enjoy.

My shadow walking really helped me to see different aspects of myself and decipher how I want to proceed with this and my other blogs. I am quite pleased about that.

One major discovery for Shadow Rhythms is how important it is to me that I help people understand their shadow and how to work with it. This site will continue to be donation only for that purpose. This site is definitely about my acts of selfless service to help you change how you feel about your body, mind and spirit through working with shadow. Please do not hesitate to ask questions and leave comments about any of the topics here at Shadow Rhythms. It is my pleasure to help answer them for you if I am able, or point you in a direction where you can find the answers for yourself.

How has this month changed the way you look at yourself? Have you taken the time to explore your shadow?  Are you going to take advantage of the shadow period opportunity of the triple retrograde that will soon be in effect?

May you allow light to shine into the shadows; to discover your inner gifts, to fully empower your healing journey, and to create positive changes in your life.

Peace and Healing,
Morgan

I am glad you are taking care of yourself. Thanks for stopping by.

I think I was stuck in Mercury Retrograde All of February. Communication just didn't work for me. Is it strange that March could be better despite the alignment of the planets *lol*
It is what we make it. It also depends if you are walking consciously or sleep walking through life. If you are sleep walking Mercury Retrogade will trip you up because that is its job.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace,

Aspects of Me - Honoring the End of February

This blog has been much neglected over the last year or so. I discovered my shadow self and went on a separate journey from this site creating Shadow Rhythms. At the end of January I dived deeply into my writing and created another blog, A Writer's Universe. I love all of my blogs and I am looking at the differences of them. I am deciding what aspect of me they each represent.

Dragonwillow Journeys was created to have a place for you, our clients and workshop attendees, to learn more and then follow our healing journeys. Somehow I lost focus for this blog. I couldn't grab hold of what it was really about and how to explore and share that with others. I have a new excitement for this blog and I have begun to see what I need to see to expand and grow Dragonwillow Journeys. I hope you will join us on this expansion of the inner self.

Christie has spiritually grown to now create her own blog at Waking My Voice. Please show your support of her independent journey and visit her blog. She has promised to continue to write for us here at Dragonwillow Journeys on occasion.

As February comes to a close I want to honor your journey of exploration, of healing, of expanding. You will find much to look forward to learning here at Dragonwillow Journeys in the coming months. I hope you will visit often.

February has been a very enlightening month. I have been on a journey exploring my writing that has opened my heart and filled me with compassion for myself and for others. I will forever be grateful to February 2012 and all the many inner gifts I have received. It has also brought new clients into my life that I treasure. It is always a blessing to share our knowledge of healing with others; to empower you with the tools for your own healing journey. I look forward to our journey of healing together; for each time I help you learn the tools to heal yourself, a piece of me is healed also.

Blessings to you on your healing journey,
Morgan

Mercury Retrograde - Triple Shadow Period

Once again Mercury Retrograde is coming upon us. It is currently moving into the Shadow energies and will be fully within it on March 12, 2012. Saturn and Mars are also currently in Retrograde giving us three planets  in shadow periods at the same time; a triple shadow. This isn't a time to be hiding and pulling the covers over your head. It is a time to consciously be working your stuff and clearing it. It is a time to really dig deep.

I have decided to share a list of all of my Retrograde posts for you to be able to work this intense period consciously. After all, with all three in Retrograde it makes this a powerful time to be clearing these energies instead of ignoring them, and will allow you to get back on track walking your purpose. If you haven't received your free download of "Working With Mercury Retrograde to Grow Your Soul" you can do that below.

Mercury Retrograde -Changing The Way You Think
Every mishap during a Retrograde is to help wake you up. It is basically saying, "Hello, remember you came here for a reason and you have fallen off the path to your purpose."

Mercury Retrograde - Don't Let it Trip You Up
Recheck your writing, your plans, your car, and remember that this is a time to reemphasize that complications and break downs happen when we aren't paying attention to our needs and the needs of the equipment that we use.

Mercury Retrograde - Old Relationships Popping Up
Good ol' Mercury Retrograde gently reminded me that I have healing and clearing that needs to be done around this relationship.

Mercury Retrograde Coming to an End
I had several computer glitches, communication snafus and my car has been in the shop pretty much the whole time.

Mars Retrograde - Anger Issues
Are you going to let your anger issues rule you or are you ready to do what is necessary to put your life on course and live your dreams as you were meant to?

Mars Retrograde - How to Transform Your Anger
Mars in Virgo is pushing you and me to ask even deeper questions.

Saturn Retrograde - What isn't working in your life
This Retrograde may have you looking at your relationships; what is working and what isn't working.

And to help you clear past relationships:

Forgive Yourself and Others Through Sacred Living Ceremony
Forgiveness can be very empowering and speed you on your path to authenticity.

Do you have questions about Shadow Timings or Shadow Rhythms? Would you like to learn more about how to work with your personal Shadow periods to help you have a better understanding of what is going on in your life and what you can do about? Leave your question in the comments and I will be glad to answer your questions.

May you have much compassion for yourself and others during this shadowy time.

Blessings,
Morgan Dragonwillow

Tackle It Tuesday - Playing The Didgeridoo

For six years now I have been playing the Didgeridoo.  What, may you ask is a Didgeridoo; it is an aboriginal wind instrument, usually made out of the eucalyptus tree that has been hollowed out by termites.  The Didgeridoo makes an earthy droning sound that vibrates out transforming energy; making it a great tool for meditation and helping you relax into your meditative state.

I love playing the Didgeridoo and get excited when talking about how to play the instrument. Adding the Didgeridoo to my list of healing tools was the only logical choice because, it adds to the energy of seven Rays, Reiki and meditation.

One of my personal goals, as well as professional goals, is to learn circular breathing while playing the Didgeridoo so that I won’t have to stop and take a breath every few seconds; it would be continuous play while playing during a meditation.  I am also learning how to make different vocal sounds while playing the instrument. This has been a goal of mine since I started playing and today I am going to tackle it.

Things I need to do to make this goal a reality.

·         Research ways to learn circular breathing  and different vocal sounds

·         Watch YouTube videos on  the Kookaburra and dingo barks  technics

·         Record myself playing to hear how I sound

·         Practice, practice and practice

·         Be gentle with myself as I learn circular breathing

The first step is big because I understand the theory of how circular breathing is supposed to work but my brain does not want to change how I breathe.  Researching different ways to learn circular breathing would be a big help and I could find one that would make it easier to learn.   Watching videos on how to perform the kookaburra and dingo barks gave me an idea of how it is supposed to sound when playing.  Recording myself playing helps me to hear how I sound, because how I sound in my head is different than what others hear when listening to me play.  The more I practice the better I will sound and the quicker I will learn the different technics that are outlined in my goals.

Being gentle with yourself is one of the most important parts to reaching your goal because being hard on yourself will only put you further away from your desired aspiration. I intend on not criticizing myself every time I don’t get it right.

How can you be gentle with yourself while learning something new?

What are you going to tackle this week?

Setting Goals - Pushing Through My Anxiety

When I think of my goals I have to admit I get overwhelmed and a little anxious. My professional goals seem so big and unattainable. So I breathe and take my goals a little at a time; break them down into small attainable goals to see that I am moving forward and to feel a sense of achievement.

One of my long term goals is to become a life coach and grief counselor helping women believe in and find their personal power. I plan on going back to school for my human services degree as well as getting my certificate in life coaching within the next year.

On a shorter term goal, I have completed the master/teacher level in many workshops on healing modalities and taken many classes on healing and personal power. I have co-facilitated a few classes with other teachers and facilitators and now feel it is time to teach on my own and fully step into the facilitator role.

I am breaking down this goal into small steps toward attaining and reaching this goal.
  • Decide which workshop I am going to teach
  • Create a class outline
  • Where I am going to hold the classes
  • Research marketing
  • Create class supplies and workbooks
The first step would be deciding which workshop I am going to be facilitating, which I have decided will be Seven Rays, and then I am going to tackle my goal for creating a class outline.

What goals have you set for yourself?
What are you going to tackle this week?
What steps are you willing to take to achieve your goals?

Love and Light,
Christie
